Lots
of updates (about fuckin' time, huh?). Created a new section in the GbV
discography for Re-Issues and added Forever Since Breakfast, Bee Thousand
- The Directors Cut, Bee Thousand - The Directors Cut Abridged CD, Hazzard Hotrods
- Bigger Trouble, Propeller (#1) & Propeller (#14) to it. Also added Hazzard
Hotrods - Bigger Trouble, Music from Bubble,
Suitcase 2: American Superdream Wow & Briefcase
2 - The Return Of Milko Waif to the Robert Pollard Discography. I haven't
indexed all this through the superlists yet, but I'm tired now and need to take
a break. Also added my music video for Short
On Posters to the GbV/Multimedia section.

Welcome to Guided By Robert Pollard.com version 3.0!
First off, everything from the old site is on this site,
I've just refocused the attention to the man himself.
What's Changed?
Most of the changes were "behind the scenes" kind of things. When I began this
site, I never imagined that it would grow to the size it has, so I never organized
the site efficiently. At one point during the sites evolution, I began organizing
things differently, but never found the time to go back and re-do the old stuff.
I finally bit the bullet for this upgrade.
As I mentioned earlier, the focus is now on Bob and his new solo career. I've
retired the old images on the first two pages of the site and have attempted
to make the site more interesting with a more liberal use of superfluous (filler)
images. The new site has the basic look and behavior of the old site, but features
an updated interface. I have copied the "Robert Pollard Solo/Fading Captain
Series" section of the old site into the main "Robert Pollard" section of the
site since Bobs solo work and the Fading Captain stuff was independent of Guided
By Voices for the most part. The Robert Pollard section of the site is a little
scarce for content at the moment, but I expect that the change quickly. (Afterall,
we all know Bob has sort of a reputation for creating content, doesn't he?)
Included in the menu on the left is a button that will take you the old GbV
site. This is where most of the updates have occurred. I dropped the lofi side
of the site since it was a hassle creating two copies of each page and then
trying to keep them straight. The "Links", "Merchandise", and "Postal Blowfish"
sections have now been merged into one section called "GbV On-Line". The "Discography",
"Meet The Band" and "Other Bands" sections are pretty much like the old site
with a few cosmetic changes.
Much like the organization issues I mentioned earlier, the formatting of the
thumbnails in the "Live Photos" section evolved as time passed. Live pictures
that were added later featured thumbnail pictures that were much larger and
consistently arranged than the older pictures. I re-created the thumbnail pages
for all the earlier images and deleted links to off-site pictures. (most of
them were dead links anyway) The Secret Spots that used to be on the front page
are now in the GbV section under the button "Memorabilia". I've also added dozens
of new posters to that section.
The "Multimedia" section is new. I've been given permission by the band to post
some video clips from your bootlegs. I have one video up now, so be sure to
check that out. I hope to have more videos posted shortly.
One final thing! I have always been a fan of Easter Eggs and this site is littered
with them so keep your eyes open!
Enjoy
